Vanilla OS

Slogan

Vanilla OS is an operating system that puts user experience and comfort first, and revolves around core values: simplicity, cleanliness, freedom, and obstruction-free.

Pro's
  • System updates happen in the background, unnoticed and without any action on the next restart
  • If errors occur, you roll back to the last state
  • Separation of system and user – therefore more stability and security
  • Flatpak is preferred over apps Ideal for people who just want to use a PC
Con's
  • Differs greatly from classic Linux systems, so people with more in-depth Linux experience may need to rethink things
  • Power users may be bothered by the separation of system and user
  • No more manual control of updates
  • GNOME needs some extensions to be “user friendly”
Unsere Meinung / What we say

The system comes with new ideas and new possibilities – what becomes more complicated in the background becomes simpler in the foreground. System updates? They just happen. You are up to date, stable and secure and don’t have to worry about anything. Plus a clean and basic GNOME. Beginners need help setting it up, but then they may never need it again.
